(NewsNibs) - The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus has announced the inauguration of a new facility designed to enhance the border crossing process at "Kozlovichi". Starting January 1, this waiting area will provide a structured electronic queuing system for travelers. The space is initially equipped with 140 vehicle parking slots, with a view to expand the capacity to cater to growing demand in the future. To ensure a comfortable wait, the area will include various amenities.
Enhanced Amenities for Drivers
In recognition of the needs of drivers during potentially long waiting times at the border, the facility is fitted out with electronic displays featuring real-time queue information. Additionally, commercial shops and well-equipped sanitary zones will be available for convenience. The goal is to offer drivers a higher level of comfort and service as they prepare to cross the border.
Security Measures and Prior Updates
For enhanced security, the facility boasts round-the-clock video surveillance. The launch of the waiting area comes after a trial period, during which the functionality and services offered were evaluated. Furthermore, this improvement follows a prior notice from the Belarusian Customs Committee on December 19, regarding the reception of goods such as TVs and smartphones from foreign online stores through the postal service. Note that these items are subject to quantity restrictions when received by Belarus residents.
The introduction of the new waiting area at "Kozlovichi" marks a significant upgrade to the border facility infrastructure. It aims to streamline the queuing process and augment the border crossing experience for travelers. As the Republic of Belarus continues to modernize its border services, enhancements such as these represent both the drive for increased efficiency and the consideration of convenience for its citizens and visitors alike.
