(NewsNibs) - As citizens prepare to usher in the New Year, Minsk's Housing and Communal Services department has put its emergency crews on high alert. On-duty teams are prepared to respond with priority to a predefined list of emergent situations in residential areas from December 30 to January 1. These precautions ensure the safety and comfort of residents during the festive period. In instances where the usual emergency number 115 is unreachable, people are directed to contact the dispatcher service immediately through alternative phone numbers provided by the authorities.
Healthcare System Adopts Special Schedule
The Ministry of Health of Belarus, recognizing the importance of accessible healthcare during holidays, has announced that all healthcare organizations will operate under a specially tailored schedule. This adjustment, communicated on December 23, is part of a comprehensive approach to maintain public well-being and promptly address any health-related emergencies during the extended weekends and holiday festivities.
Enhanced Security Measures for Public Safety
Acknowledging public safety concerns, Sergey Gorokhov, Chief of the Public Order and Prevention Department at the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee, revealed on December 20 that enhanced security measures would be implemented during New Year's Eve celebrations. Certain individuals will be barred from participating in mass celebrations, and sappers will be present ahead of time to secure the venues. Such security restrictions are not unique to Minsk but are expected to be carried out across Belarus to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for revelers.
To augment the New Year's festivities, Minsk has implemented a series of coordinated measures. Through the meticulous planning of its emergency and healthcare services, along with heightened security protocols, the city is committed to providing its citizens with a safe and enjoyable holiday experience. As the final days of the year approach, residents and visitors alike can look forward to ringing in the New Year with peace of mind.
