(NewsNibs) - The analysis of the county’s entrepreneurial sector indicated reassuring financial growth, with a consolidated net profit of 444.8 million kunas, marking a modest 1.5 percent increase from 2021. A closer look into the report reveals that these profits were generated by 2,444 entrepreneurs, who collectively accumulated total revenues soaring to 11.4 billion kunas in 2022—a significant 21.3 percent increase from the previous year. However, it was not all gains as total expenses consequently upturned by 22.3 percent, reaching 10.8 billion kunas.
Economic Upliftment
The county has shown positive developments in several economic indicators. The profit for the specified period was particularly promising, showing a notable 12.2 percent growth totalling 588.2 million kunas. Nonetheless, period losses also saw an uptick, rising sharply by 66.6 percent to 143.4 million kunas. On the trade front, entrepreneurs enjoyed a fruitful year with imports climbing by 23.5 percent to 1.75 billion kunas and exports accelerating by 25 percent to 2.1 billion kunas, culminating in a buoyant trade balance of 355.4 million kunas.
Furthering the economic optimism was the increase in employment among these entrepreneurs, ticking up by 1.9 percent to reach 15,180 employed individuals. The average monthly net salary of 5,432 kunas showed a 7.6 percent rise compared to the prior year, despite being 22.1 percent below the national average for workers employed by entrepreneurs.
Leading Figures
Among the county's standout achievers, Prima Commerce reigned with the highest revenue, reporting a stunning 653.1 million kunas and supporting 596 jobs. Kronospan CRO followed closely with 615.6 million kunas in revenue while leading the export value with 430.4 million kunas. In terms of profitability, BKL set itself apart by realizing the county’s highest profit for the period at 18 million kunas.
