(NewsNibs) - The Errenteria Department for Equality in collaboration with the Council for Equality has officially initiated the 14th Mariasun Landa Awards. These awards are an integral part of Errenteria’s third Equality Plan and are designed to honor and value the work and influence of women in the community. They are set to promote and encourage the dissemination of women’s diverse contributions to the town through various forms of expression.
Submission Details and Participation Criteria
With the deadline for submissions set for January 26th, the competition invites individuals 18 years and older to contribute their original, unpublished works. These entries must not exceed the limit of three DIN A4 pages and adhere strictly to guidelines that preclude the use of sexist language or imagery that perpetuates discrimination or perpetuates sexist stereotypes. Participants are encouraged to create works that espouse values such as equality, diversity, balanced participation, and a myriad of gender roles and identities. The instructional emphasis is on pieces that uphold these principles in their narrative and thematic content.
Prizes and Language Inclusion
Two distinct prizes will be awarded as part of the Mariasun Landa Awards. The 'Female Perspective' prize will bestow €450 to an exceptional work presented by an individual woman or a group of women. Another €450 will be awarded through the 'Looking at Women' prize, open to all entrants. In an effort to promote the local language, at least one of the winners will have presented their work in Basque. All citizens are encouraged to participate, with the Council for Equality extending a special invitation to the women of Errenteria to share their perspectives and experiences.
The Errenteria Council for Equality looks forward to a rich diversity of submissions and reminds potential participants of the approaching deadline. By highlighting the significance of women’s roles in society through the Mariasun Landa Awards, the council aims to foster a more inclusive and egalitarian community dialogue.
