(NewsNibs) - During a campaign to raise public awareness and support for election disruption, vote boycott, and a non-cooperation movement, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) activists came under attack by members of the Jubo League and Chhatra League. The incident occurred amidst the distribution of leaflets as part of the initiative demanding the formation of a neutral and impartial caretaker government for upcoming elections. Hazrat Ali Dhali, the coordinator of the Chandpur District Volunteer Corps, and Ali Ahmed Sarkar, the coordinator of the District Tanti Dal, led the efforts which targeted various central locations in the city.
Eruption of Violence
The BNP activities took an unexpected turn when their activists faced hostility from the local Jubo League and Chhatra League members. Amid the confrontation, Ali Ahmed Sarkar's home was reportedly vandalized. The violent encounter escalated further when Detective Branch (DB) police appeared and encircled the BNP activists along with members of their associate organizations.
