In addition to public announcements, the SEPE branch in Melilla will send direct emails to consulting firms and companies with whom they have existing relationships, as well as prominent business associations like Activas among others. This outreach initiative informs about the webinar registration details.
Gemma Torres, the Provincial Director of the SEPE in Melilla, expressed the organization’s intent to maximize event publicity. She acknowledges that while businesses may already have the pertinent information, the webinar aims to clarify lingering questions through the central SEPE services. Attendees must register by December 18 for the video conference, which is expected to include both business owners from Melilla and Ceuta and representatives from SEPE of each city. The national Director General of SEPE, Gerardo Gutiérrez, is scheduled to present at the webinar.
During the webinar, Torres will address concerns regarding the bonus changes. She highlighted that the previous 50 percent bonus per employee, which is now 262 euros monthly, does not affect those already under contract with existing bonuses. Torres also mentioned that the new legislation could be advantageous, such as for lower-wage earners where the fixed amount might exceed 50 percent of their wage.
Furthermore, Torres clarified that there are additional independent bonuses stipulated in the new legislation that businesses can apply for if deemed beneficial. While Torres did not commit to predicting the reception of these changes among business owners, she provided detailed information, stressing that choices should be based on individual business scenarios.
Should businesses opt to combine the remaining subsidy to reach the 50 percent threshold from the fixed 262 euros, SEPE's offices in Melilla and Ceuta will facilitate the process, as explained in the upcoming webinar and outlined in the new regulations. SEPE is committed to disseminating details and providing necessary support promptly and efficiently, with an emphasis on minimizing documentation errors.
Ultimately, the goal of SEPE is to reduce procedural errors and streamline the management and approval of each file for the benefit of both the entrepreneurs and the managers of the subsidy.
